Tag Builder

Build a filament tag for a spool, or a slot tag for an AMS slot. Copy the data into a QR code generator, or write it straight to an NFC tag.

Filament Tag

Type

Must match a Bambu Studio filament profile name, e.g. PLA Matte or PETG HF.

Hex Color

Pick a suggested or custom color with the swatch, or type/paste a 6-digit hex value.

OpenSpool 1.0 String

The QRSpool format. Put this in a QR code, or write it to an NFC tag as a plain text record.

OpenSpool JSON

OpenSpool tag contents. On an NFC tag this goes in an application/json record.

QRSpool URL

Opens this site with the filament data pre-loaded. Use this for NFC tags on phones without in-browser NFC support (i.e. anything that isn't Chrome on Android).

QR2STL Settings

Generates a printable 3D QR code. Open QR2STL, click Import/Export Settings at the top right (inside hamburger menu on mobile), paste this into the Import box, and click Apply Settings.

Write to NFC Tag

Choose which formats to write. Separate NDEF records will be written in the order listed.

URL record: a qrspool.com link. Any phone can open it natively by tapping the tag.

Text record: the OpenSpool 1.0 string, read by QRSpool's NFC scanner.

OpenSpool record: application/json, for OpenSpool-compatible readers.

Slot Tag

Identifies an AMS slot, a printer, or a slot on a specific printer. Scan to quickly apply a filament tag to the slot.

Slot (optional)

Printer Name (optional)

For multi-printer setups. Must match a name from your server's bambu_config.json. Leave blank to target whichever printer is already active.

Slot IDs

Filled in by the picker above. This data is also available on the Apply Tag page, under “Show/Hide All Slot Info” for any slot.

Printed Label (optional)

Text embossed on the 3D printed tag.

Same import process as the filament tag above.

Write to NFC Tag

Text record: the slot string, read by QRSpool's NFC scanner.

Combined tag: also include the filament data from above, so one tap applies that filament to this slot.

Web NFC only works in Chrome on Android, and only over HTTPS. Writing replaces everything already on the tag. Tags that are locked or read-only can't be written.

Advanced Settings

Target Domain

Domain used for the URL records and QRSpool URLs above. Auto-filled with this page's own domain; change it to point generated tags at a different QRSpool instance.
